Bubbly Ginger Cocktail
The refreshing Moscow Mule has been on trend for quite a while now, and to me, with good reason! Combining vodka with ginger beer and lime in a cool copper cup is a winning combination and usually my go-to drink when sipping cocktails. But since this is the holiday season and the champagne tends to be flowing, why not bring together both flavors in one classy cocktail?!
This Bubbly Ginger cocktail combines the flavors of a classic Mule, adds mint leaves, a hint of brown sugar for subtle sweetness and in a not-so-surprise, twist ending, gets topped off with some crisp bubbly! Garnished with a wedge of lime and a sprig of mint, this is the perfect cocktail to ring in the new year!
In a cocktail shaker, add 1 ounce of your favorite vodka, 1 ounce of ginger beer (I like a strong ginger flavor in my cocktails, so if you aren't as much of a fan of the spicy bite of ginger beer, I would suggest cutting down to 1/2 ounce), 1/4 teaspoon brown sugar (I like the depth that the brown sugar adds as apposed to regular white sugar. If you like a sweeter cocktail, you can make this 1/2 teaspoon instead), and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Add ice and shake. Pour into a champagne glass, like these or these, and top with your favorite Champagne or Prosecco. Garnish with a wedge of lime and mint leaves. Cheers!
