Indoor S'mores

Whether you’re camping out in the wilderness or from the comfort of your own backyard, making s’mores around the campfire is a must. The graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow treat is a flavor combination that screams nostalgia. It’s hard to beat the simple joy of roasting a marshmallow over an open flame, walking the line between perfectly charred and white-hot ball of burnt! But when it’s too hot to even think about sitting by a fire, you can recreate this campfire classic from the comfort of your kitchen.

To get this shot of our leaning tower of s’mores, we pulled out our handy dandy heat gun and a kitchen torch. The heat gun melts the chocolate in seconds and the same style torch that gives crème brûlée its crackly crust can create a perfect char on all sides of your marshmallow. But, don’t fret! You don’t need these tools for the job. You can make s’mores in the oven by layering graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Pop them under the broiler for a couple minutes, until they reach your ideal shade of burnt. Top with another layer of graham cracker and wait for it to cool down just long enough so you don’t burn your mouth on a sticky, melty bite of deliciousness.
