Turbinado Lemonade

When I was a kid, I loved snacking on lemons! I could slice one up and eat it whole, sparing only the seeds and peel. My cheek-puckering habit may not have been the best idea for my young tooth enamel, but I couldn’t get enough of that mouth-watering, tangy tartness. I love everything lemons have to offer and while I don’t dine on them quite like I used to, I find myself squeezing them on the daily! Adding a squeeze of lemon to water is top-notch but when you want to balance the tart with some sweet, a quick simple syrup turns this combo into a tasty glass of lemonade in no time! 🍋

We’ve made a few lemonades around here (check out our Blueberry Lemonade and this Boozy Lemonade) and we keep making more! This batch uses Turbinado sugar, a minimally processed sugar that has a great balance of sweetness and a beautiful texture (perfect for topping off these Blueberry Lemon Scones). With a little heat, Turbinado’s crunchy crystals will dissolve in water, creating a rich and silky simple syrup that gives this lemonade a deep golden color. Quench your thirst with the recipe down below! 🍋🍋🍋
